We received news during the first week of May 2008 that my grandmother had suffered a stroke. She was in the ICU of a Bangkok area hospital. We thought it would be prudent to make an emergency trip to visit her in case things turned for the worse. Polly and I had visited Thailand together before, just after we were married. However, we were waiting for the kids to be a bit older, before we made ethe journey home with them in tow. Knowing that this could be a final opportunity for them to meet my grandmother, we chose to take them with us. It was a good, but hard journey - a journey that forever be important and cherished. Our hope is that Hannah and Jaxon (through the help of these visual aids and story-telling) over time will have some impression left on them as well.

My grandmother passed away Saturday morning, July 12th, just a few days after her 89th birthday.
We will miss her dearly and pray that God grants her peace and joy in the life to come.

For our 10th Anniversary, Polly and I decided we would celebrate by returning to Europe. I have been wanting to get back to Germany and Austria since I travelled there in high school, so we chose to make it our destination. In addition, Polly's Hungarian heritage made it appropriate to visit Budapest while we were close by.

We are thankful for the myriad people who helped make this trip a reality - our family and our friends and colleagues.

In August of 2005, our family took a trip to New Jersey for Polly's brother's wedding. While we were there, we spent as much time in New York City as possible.

This was Hannah's first big trip, though not her first time on a plane. The wedding went well and we gathered some very important memories.

It took no time at all for New York to quickly join our favorite cities list.

My family owns some property in Texas. During the summer of 2001, we journeyed there to spend some time enjoying ourselves with my mom and Bill.

We love to fish and eat. This is a great place for both. Many of my Thai family live in Dallas and they visited with us while we were there. It was a special bonus that my Grandmother was visiting as well from Thailand.

These are memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

As often as we can manage it, travel is an important part of our life.
There are few things that widen our horizons and allow us to dream like visiting new places.
We hope to add to our travel adventures in the years to come and dream of living abroad someday.

Welcome to our memories, the treasures that we come back to time and time again
to remember how blessed we are.
